Hi, I'm

Jordan McWhorter

I have recently graduated from Southern Utah University with a BFA in Theatre Design and Production. Through my education I have worked in both lighting and sound. In the beginning I worked on many student run shows as a lighting designer and operator. From there my focus shifted to learning more about the world of sound. I started off as the live mixer for a musical, then worked my way up the ladder to recording engineer, and then all the way to the title of designer. I am fascinated by the intersection of lighting and sound technologies and how they can best be used together to create an immersive experience.

Selected Works

The Tempest

Sound Designer

A Shakespearean production in an outdoor theatre. I brought the auditory vision of this show to life. From the opening thunder clap to the final bow this show was a rollercoaster of emotions.

4.48 Psychosis

Sound Designer

Live streamed during the Covid pandemic, this show was a psychological study done on the difference in perception when a show is presented in the style of realism as opposed to in an avant garde style.

Falsettos

Sound Designer / Engineer

This show, with a cast of 7 and a 4 piece orchestra, was a study on the effects of EQ. Because of the Covid 19 pandemic, the performers were masked through tech andduring some of the performances.
